It’s time to stop listening to people.
If you want to get anywhere in life, that is.
The thing is, people will always have something to say.
And when I say people, I’m not excluding your parents, spouse, kids or loved ones.
No matter how much they may love you — they can still unitnetionally hurt you by tellig you things that will instill fear in you, slow your progress or make you stop believing that your dreams can come true if you take the right steps to achieve them.
Money doesn’t grow on trees, is something you may have heard time and time again.
If you’re like me, your school teachers have made no effort to prepare you for financial independence, entrepreneurship, investment or anything like that.
What you did hear was how the rich got richer, and how wealthy people were special, and, in short, how to become average.
As an adolescent you may have have been pushed by your parents to study, get a profession, and get a job, like everybody else.
Fast forward to your mid-20s.
Now you’ve got a job, hopefully well-paid.
At first it seems lovely! Glass walls, long breaks and there’s even a gym. And free espresso!
But in time, you realize that people keep moaning.
“I didn’t get a raise.”
“No payment for overtime.”
“My job is soooo boring!”
Interestingly enough, those who complain do absolutely nothing to better their situation. Nada! They just keep coming for work, take a deep breath, say something negative about the office and carry on…
At some point you feel that you’ve had enough, and resign.
You’ve done your research and now you’re going to start your own business.
All your colleagues seem to admire you, telling you how brave you are to take such a step and leave your workplace. “You can do the same!” you tell them but they wouldn’t listen…
Now that you’re learning the ropes of starting your own business, everyone around you becomes a business consultant du jour.
“Starting a business is risky!”
“99% of startups fail”
“You’ll have no pension”
“You’re an artist at heart, not a business person”
“You’ve never had a business. What if you fail?”
And so on and so forth.
And it gets better.
“My business is going to be online. I’m going to start a blog!”
“A blog? What’s a blog?”
“Can you even make money with a blog?”
“All this online thing is one big SCAM!”
“You don’t have time for this blog thing. You’ve got a family to support. Start when you retire!”
And the icing on the cake – those people who wonder why content is even needed, when 80% of what they do is consume content online…
And it never stops…
“You’ve put on weight”
“What’s that thing you’re having for breakfast?”
“You’re not intuitive”
“You’re not even creative… All you want is to make money!
Now over to you – What’s the feedback you’ve had from other people? Do you even care?
